Proposed Amendments
In an effort to update and provide better clarity in the Sequoyah Condominiums Bylaws, we will be hosting two town hall meetings in the coming months to discuss the proposed amendments and restatements in the bylaws.
Overview of the topics:
Collections
· Reduction of late fee for assessments
· Clarification to recover fees for collections process and attorney costs.
· Clarification of Assessment Collection procedures
· Clarification of Compliance and Default procedures
· Lien for assessments and enforcement of liens
Association Meetings
· Required number of Board meetings
· Clarifying Annual Meeting dates
· Special Meetings of Council/Board Requirements
· Board of Governors/Officer qualifications and duties
· Notices and Covenants Committee and Control
Other Areas
· Ability to separate sub-metering of utilities and other services to Units
· Clarification on Improvement by Unit Owners or Council
· Liability for Water intrusion
· Clarification of Parking and Storage (in common elements)
We encourage all owners to attend the meetings, so they are fully informed in preparation for voting on the proposed changes.
For the changes to be adopted, 66.7% of the owners must vote in approval. Our goal is to achieve maximum voting participation.
